LIME WHITE WASH

ASBESTOS WHITE WASH

The ancient Greek word "asbestos" is the name of a product used widely mainly as paint. This product has the following characteristics:

a. environmentally friendly
b. waste free production
c. odourless
d. kills germs
e. stops any fungus growth on plants
f. toxin free
g. there are no chemicals used

Unfortunately, the western world misused the word asbestos. They call asbestos a very harmful substance that causes asbestosis or misophilioma (which is a type of cancer).

We call this harmful product amiantos, not asbestos, and it is again an ancient Greek word. It is extremely dangerous and certain procedures have to be followed during handling.

I have an Australian asbestos removal license and any advise or information can be forwarded to you on request.
Back to our great asbestos or lime product now and as part of our excursion, we will visit Nafsicaa's (my neighbour) lime product factory. There we will see the procedures of making lime paint.

Basically it is a white rock in its original form. It gets baked at high temperature then it is mixed with water and stored in big storage bins. We leave it there for a while and then we pack it to make our paint or render bonding products.
